Most of my pre teen years were spent doing the usual girl things. I was in Girl Scouts for most of my elementary years. I believe this is where I learned my tremendous leadership skills. The other girls in my troop hated me because I was ALWAYS first. :-)

Junior High was where I "blossomed". I was always smarter than the other girls (and most boys), but the Summer between sixth and seventh grade really made for some wonderful physiological changes. That's probably why I was the most popular girl at Sunnyvale Junior High.

Homestead High School was my springboard to social and academic success. During my four years at Homestead, I was involved in all of the important clubs (Drama, Spanish, National Forensic League, and Octagon), maintained a 4.0 grade average, became a member of the Young Republicans, and dated most of the cute, smart guys. My mother wanted me to try out for the song girls troop, but I felt the only thing I would get out of that was; relationships with bitchy girls and dates with DUMB guys.

Because of my academic excellence, I had my choice of universities. I chose Texas A&M for a few reasons. I wanted to get away from my parents (sorry Mom and Dad). I wanted to go to a school where the male to female ratio was MORE in my favor. I also figured Texas could use some smarter women. I was correct on all accounts. You would not believe the number of stupid women in Texas.

Again, I did excellent. I received my Bachelors of Sciences in Computer Science in 1996. I was (of course) showered with job offers as soon as I graduated. I wanted to return to the Bay Area (money and men), so I took the offer Silicon Graphics handed me. I'm currenlty a release engineer in the server division, but I certain I'm headed for the top. One way or another. :-)
